LA FEMME
Kirana
Kirana means "beautiful ray of sunlight" — a name that gives away the warmth of this piece from the start.
THE NAME
Beautiful ray of sunlight
Kirana means "beautiful ray of sunlight." In this piece, that's not an abstract idea: the background is a saturated, warm orange, scattered with splatters and a stamped circular pattern that feels like light bursting outward.
The name is echoed in the color of the background itself.
THE POSTURE
From behind, in surrender
Kirana is seen from behind: the hip curves in a soft S-shape, one arm reaching up toward the head, out of frame. Not a confrontation with the viewer, but not introspection either — rather a moment of movement, caught mid-gesture.
The bold black contour line follows that curve closely, giving the body a clear, graphic presence against the vivid background.
THE PROCESS
A body full of color
The body isn't built up in one or two tones, but across a wide spectrum: blue, pink, purple, and green, all held together within the same black contour line — like a rainbow contained within the form.
Thin drip lines in white, orange, and pink run vertically across the canvas, like falling rays of light — a direct echo of the name.
